Clinical Achievements

 

1994: Pioneered the introduction of the field of Fetal Echocardiography to Lebanon.


1995: Performed coil embolization of a Patent Ductus Arteriosus in a child for the first time in Lebanon and the region.

2001: Performed the first closure of a Patent Ductus Arteriosus utilizing an Amplatzer device in Lebanon.


2002: Performed the first case of stent implantation in the pulmonary tree in Lebanon.

2004: Performed the first closure of a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) in Lebanon utilizing an Amplatzer device, shortly after it was performed in few other medically advanced centers around the world. VSD Closed by Cardiac Catheterization without Open Surgery​.

2012: Performed the first world- wide closure of a rupture in a child’s aorta without resorting to surgery, using an Amplatzer device delivered through catheterization.

2013: Performed the First Hybrid Norwood’s Heart Surgery for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) for the first time in Lebanon and the region.


2013: Performed for the first Time in Lebanon the Hybrid procedure for VSD closure.


2014: Performed a first of its kind procedure in the World, which is the closure of an ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm with a septal occluder device in a child, utilizing a novel percutaneous femoral arterial-transthoracic approach. First Worldwide Procedure.


2015: Performed The Lebanese's first trans-catheter, non-surgical, implantation of a pulmonary valve. Melody Implantation and 2015​​
