Medical students are known for spending lots of hours studying while using their computers. With the rise of online learning during the pandemic, students are spending more hours on their computers at home and fewer hours exercising. This is causing stiff necks, hypomobility of the cervical spine, and headaches which are decreasing productivity and quality of life.
How can you students protect themselves from posture injuries by applying minor changes?
Posture modifications:
Laptop ergonomics: Sit straight with the crown of the head tall, chin minimally tilted down, shoulders down, and the scapula retracted and depress.
Sleep posture modifications:

If the pillow is big, your head will be tilted to the opposite direction.

If the pillow is small, your head will be tilted towards the pillow.

Fill the gap between the side of your face to the edge of your shoulder to maintain your neck straight.
To make sure your head is in the right position; you can lie down and just take a selfie.
