Social Well-being: Catch friends, not COVID-19

Page Content

Prepared by: Natasha Ard, MD Student

Social and physical distancing, lockdowns, and self-isolations have all impacted our social life during the pandemic which have left us feeling demotivated and uninspired.

Here are some tips to help you keep up with your friends while still managing the busy life of a medical student and staying safe.
  • Have a quick coffee run. It can be of just a few minutes but still can be a morale-boosting break!
  • Make a phone call! Most of us just text nowadays but we forget how a simple phone call can be uplifting.
  • Enjoy online gaming with your friends if that’s your thing! It’s fun, you can chat, and still feel like you’re sitting together.
  • Grab a quick meal. It doesn’t need to be somewhere far or take hours! Make sure to wear a mask and keep your physical distance.
  • Do a shared hobby or activity together. You can coincide your exercise time, watch the same series, or discuss your favorite books.
