The Multiple Sclerosis Center at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) was officially inaugurated in October 2011, marking a milestone in Lebanon and the region as the first dedicated facility for the comprehensive care of patients with Multiple Sclerosis.

For more than a decade, the center has stood as a beacon of excellence in MS care, combining advanced diagnostic tools, cutting-edge therapies, and multidisciplinary patient support, while also establishing itself as a regional leader in MS research and education.

In May 2015, following years of pioneering service and impact, the center proudly carried forward its next chapter by being renamed the Nehme and Therese Tohme Multiple Sclerosis Center in honor of its benefactors, whose generosity and vision made this journey possible.

Today, the center continues to provide the best holistic MS care, lead advanced clinical and translational research, and strengthen its national and international collaborations — from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to world-renowned institutions.

Through its unwavering dedication, the Nehme and Therese Tohme MSC remains the MENA hub for MS care and research, improving patient outcomes, shaping clinical guidelines, and training the next generation of MS specialists.
