About Us, Mission Statement, Vision
The General Services Department at AUBMC strives to maintain the highest levels of excellence in rendering its services, by providing optimal and prompt services to the AUBMC community, patients, and visitors.
Various divisions fall under the General Services Department at AUBMC and are responsible for delivering services to patients and the Medical Center staff by following certain policies and procedures related to their functions. These divisions are the: Mail Office, Mimeograph and Duplicating Center, Elevator Services and others.
To ensure proper collection, sorting and delivery of mail and patient charge cards
To provide mimeograph services (photocopying, duplicating, binding, etc...) to the Medical Center departments
To deliver other services, such as providing magnetic cards, activating IDs to access restricted areas, keys to offices and lockers to the Medical Center staff
To operate the Medical Center’s elevators by transporting visitors and patients, dietary carriages, linen, medical waste, equipment and supplies to the right unit, ensuring safety of passengers and proper operation of the elevators
The Mail Office at AUBMC is located on the second floor, Phase II. It provides services Monday through Friday from 7:00 am till 5:00 pm. Telephone: 00961-1-374374 or 00961-1-350000 ext: 6365.
It is designed for:
Collecting, sorting and delivering the incoming and internal mail for the Medical Center
Collecting and processing outgoing departmental mail
Ensuring the prompt collection of patient charge cards and delivering them to the Billing Department
Assigning mail boxes for doctors, medical students and the Medical Center departments
Maintaining records related to mail services
The Mimeography Center is located on the second floor, Phase II. It provides services Monday through Friday from 7:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Mimeography Center is designed to photocopy, stencil, cut, staple and bind material for the various Medical Center departments.
The elevator services are provided Monday through Friday from 6:30 am till 4:00 pm.
The Elevator Services section is designed to render transportation services in the most efficient way. Elevator transportation services are provided to the operating rooms, dietary, laundry, and housekeeping by transporting visitors and patients, dietary carriages, linen, medical waste, equipment and supplies to the right unit and ensuring the safety of the passengers and proper operation of the elevators.
In addition to the previously mentioned services, the General Services Department at AUBMC is responsible for:
Issuing keys for staff members of the Medical Center through a service request signed by the department head or chairperson and approved by the General Services Department director
Activating ID’s and providing lockers to staff according to the work need through a request
