Throughout September 2026, AUBMC will once again join the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) as an official ambassador of Malnutrition Awareness Week™ (MAW), taking place September 14–18, 2026.
Malnutrition is a serious health issue that can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or body size, and can lead to significant health complications. Early identification and timely nutrition intervention are essential to preventing and treating malnutrition and improving patient outcomes.
This year's theme, “Nutrition Care Is a Team Effort," highlights the vital role of healthcare professionals, caregivers, patients, and communities in recognizing malnutrition and taking action.
As part of its commitment as a MAW Ambassador, AUBMC will help raise awareness by sharing educational resources and information with healthcare providers, patients, families, and the wider community, while encouraging participation in ASPEN's educational activities on malnutrition care.
Through this collaboration, AUBMC joins healthcare organizations worldwide in promoting greater awareness of malnutrition and the importance of comprehensive nutrition care.
