The aim of our multidisciplinary team is to get our patients back on track to an active and safe lifestyle.
Our new center has been designed to take into consideration your comfort and privacy. Our goal is to provide you with a safe and welcoming environment during your testing and therapy.
Our Equipment
The Balance Center boasts the latest in balance assessment technology allowing us to tailor the testing to every patient’s needs so that an accurate diagnosis of vestibular and balance problems can be established.
Video-nystagmography (VNG):
This is an essential element in the diagnosis of the patient with dizziness. It allows evaluation of the vestibular function of the inner ear, as well as some insight into central (brain) components of dizziness, in addition to allowing lateralization of the lesion to one ear or the other.
Rotary chair testing:
This allows further evaluation of the vestibular system and its adaptation. It therefore presents complimentary information to that provided by the VNG, allowing the detection of lesions that could be potentially missed by VNG. It also allows to follow the progress of the patient as they compensate for their vestibular deficit.
Dynamic posturography:
This is a unique assessment platform, introduced in the Middle East for the first time, which serves a dual purpose in diagnosis and treatment. It allows separation of the different components of balance control, namely contributions of the visual, vestibular, and somatosensory systems to balance, and is extremely helpful in the patient with vague, possibly multi-causal dizziness. It also serves an important purpose in the establishment of rehabilitative individual therapy protocols.
